The short answer

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells of ceramic bonded to the front surface of your teeth to improve their shape, color, size or alignment.

Because porcelain reflects light much like natural enamel and resists stains, veneers can look natural when they are planned around your face, lips and bite — not just your teeth.

That's why we design first: photos, a 3D scan and a digital mock-up let you see and adjust the result before we prepare a single tooth.

Is it right for you?

Veneers can help with…

Sometimes a simpler option — whitening, bonding or Invisalign first — gives you most of the result. We'll tell you if that's the case.

  • Chipped, worn or uneven front teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Discoloration that whitening can't fix
  • Teeth that look too small, short or mismatched
  • Mild crowding, sometimes combined with Invisalign
How it works

From first photo to final smile.

  1. 01

    Smile consultation

We talk about what you want to change, take photos and a 3D scan, and check your gums and bite.

  2. 02

    Digital design & mock-up

We design your new smile digitally and show you a mock-up, so you can adjust shape and length before treatment.

  3. 03

    Preparation

Teeth are prepared as conservatively as the plan allows, under local anesthesia. You leave with temporaries.

  4. 04

    Placement

Your final veneers are tried in, checked for color and bite, and bonded in place.

Cost & insurance

What veneers cost.

The cost depends on how many teeth are treated and whether other work is needed first. Veneers are usually considered cosmetic, so insurance often doesn't cover them — which is why we lay out the full cost and payment options before you decide.

  • 01We check your insurance benefits and explain your out-of-pocket cost before treatment begins.
  • 02We work with most major PPO plans and file the claims for you.
  • 03Monthly payment options are available through Cherry, Proceed, HFD and CareCredit, subject to approval.

Questions

What patients ask us.

Do veneers damage your natural teeth?

Porcelain veneers usually require removing a thin layer of enamel so they sit naturally. We plan the case digitally first so preparation stays as conservative as your result allows.

How long do veneers last?

With good home care, a night guard if you grind, and regular checkups, porcelain veneers commonly last 10 to 20 years or more.

Can veneers be whitened?

No — porcelain keeps its color. If you want whiter natural teeth too, we whiten first (in-office Zoom or at home) and then match the veneers to your new shade.

Does insurance cover veneers?

Veneers are usually considered cosmetic, so most plans don't cover them. If a veneer or crown is needed to repair a damaged tooth, part of the cost may be covered — we check your benefits for you.

How many visits does it take?

Typically a consultation, a preparation visit and a placement visit, with design work in between. Your plan shows the exact schedule.

Veneers, bonding or Invisalign — which is right for me?

It depends on what you want to change. Bonding can fix small chips; Invisalign moves teeth without changing them; veneers change shape and color. We'll walk you through the honest pros and cons of each.
